3 years agoCarolina Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold (shoulder) will play in Week 16, according to head coach Matt Rhule. He missed five games due to a shoulder issue, but will be ready against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Although, the Panthers do plan on starting Cam Newton under center this week. It sounds like Darnold will be involved and could very well see action early with Newton likely on a short leash. The Panthers are out of the playoff hunt and Darnold is the only QB under contract for next season. It shouldn't be long before they turn to Darnold once again.
