6 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Sam Gaviglio wasn’t a recommended play against the New York Yankees on Wednesday, but he passed the test with flying colors anyway. Gaviglio pitched seven scoreless innings against the Bronx Bombers, allowing only three hits while walking three and striking out four. Gaviglio has been impressive, but against that lineup this was the best of the bunch. He now sits with a 2.51 ERA and 0.98 ERA across 28 2/3 innings pitched with 26 strikeouts. He’s turning into someone whose ownership rate will likely start to rise, limiting the ability to use him only in streamer situations.--John Smith
