Sam Hilliard Blasts Ninth Homer Of The Year
3 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Sam Hilliard went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two strikeouts in a 4-3 loss to the Texas Rangers on Tuesday. Hilliard tied up the ball game in the top of the third inning when he swatted his ninth homer of the season off Jordan Lyles. It was his only hit of the contest and his first home run since August 8. Hilliard was looking good in early August but has slipped into ineptitude over the last 15 contests. He's slashing just .140/.245/.256 over that span and is now batting just .200/.277/.450 with nine home runs, 20 RBI, and two stolen bases over 140 at-bats on the season.
