3 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Sam Hilliard went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer and two strikeouts in a 10-5 win over the Dodgers on Wednesday. Hilliard only came up with one hit in Wednesday's victory but it was a big one. He put the nail in the Dodgers' proverbial coffin in the bottom of the seventh inning when he swatted a three-run homer off Alex Vesia to give Colorado a commanding five-run lead. The 27-year-old outfielder has played better lately, slashing .294/.368/.647 over his last seven contests. But he's failed to perform with any level of consistency throughout the season. He's got a .202/.279/.455 batting line with 12 home runs, 27 RBI, and three stolen bases over 178 at-bats on the year.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
