Sam Hilliard Goes Off In Win Over The Angels
3 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Sam Hilliard went 3-for-3 with a three-run homer, two runs scored, and a walk in a 12-3 win over the Angels on Tuesday. Hilliard didn't start this game and came in to replace C.J. Cron, who injured his groin, in the fourth inning. He made an immediate impact in his first at-bat, swatting a three-run dinger off of Andrew Wantz. He would reach three more times in the contest with a pair of singles and a walk. The 27-year-old is now batting .186 with a .702 OPS, four home runs, and eight RBI over 59 at-bats this season. He could be in line for more playing time depending on what the Rockies do at the trade deadline.
