3 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Sam Hilliard went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a strikeout in a 6-5 win over the Chicago Cubs on Thursday. Hilliard took Jake Arrieta deep in the bottom of the fourth inning to pick up his seventh long ball of the season. He's now gone deep three times in the last seven games and five times in the last 15. Despite the recent power surge, he's still slashing a meager .190/.269/.488 across 84 at-bats this season. He's got as much upside as any young outfielder in the game but he needs to develop better plate discipline if he's going to take the next step. He's still a name to keep an eye on as he's getting regular at-bats for the rebuilding Rockies.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
