6 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Sam Tuivailala (Achilles, shoulder) was pulled off of his minor-league rehab stint with Triple-A Tacoma to work with the big league club's training staff. He has been dealing with some tightness in his shoulder, and he reportedly had a dead arm over the weekend. The reliever is on the long road back from surgery to repair a torn Achilles' tendon. It's uncertain how long he'll need before he is able to return to the big club, and it's possible he'll need to restart the clock on another 30-day rehab stint since he has developed a new ailment.--Daniel Dobish
