Sammy Long Takes Loss Sunday
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Sammy Long fell to 1-1- in Sunday's 6-2 loss to the A's. Long pitched five innings, allowing four runs on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts. The 25-year-old has had two solid starts and two lackluster starts with the Giants resulting in a 4.95 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and 23.5% strikeout rate. His success in the minors and his two good starts make him an intriguing option, but fantasy managers should hold off on him if they can until he proves he can be more consistent. Long's next start will be a favorable one at the Diamondbacks, making him a risky streaming option given his inconsistency.
