Sammy Watkins Agrees With Packers
3 years agoFree-agent wide receiver Sammy Watkins agreed to a one-year, $4 million deal with the Green Bay Packers on Thursday, according to a source. The Packers had Watkins in for a visit on Thursday, and it didn't take long for the two sides to reach an agreement. Green Bay will likely address the position in the draft this month as well, but Watkins will help make up for the loss of star wideout Davante Adams, who was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason. Watkins is still only 29, but he's only played in one full season (his rookie year in 2014). He also hasn't been much of a fantasy asset since his only 1,000-yard season in his sophomore year with the Buffalo Bills. Watkins could be more intriguing while teaming with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but fantasy managers won't be investing much in the oft-injured wideout.
