4 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara got off to a good start but struggled in the sixth inning of Sunday's game against the Washington Nationals. Alcantara ended up pitching 5 1/3 innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits and three walks, striking out three. Alcantara got through five innings with only one unearned run allowed, but two home runs in the sixth inning knocked him out of the game before he could get more than one out. This was Alcantara's worst outing since a game at Dodger Stadium in which he couldn't escape the second inning. The loss dropped Alcantara to a 4-7 record and moved his ERA up to 3.12.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
