4 years agoMiami Marlins right-handed pitcher Sandy Alcantara is expected to be activated in time to make Sunday’s start against Tampa Bay, which will be just his second of the season after a bout with COVID-19. Alcantara won the club’s Opening Day start July 24 by allowing one run across 6 ⅔ frames and now presents a high-upside addition to any season-long roster. The club did not announce any limitations for Alcantara out of the gate, but it seems unlikely that he’d be able to extend himself deep into the contest due to his layoff. He’ll face a difficult matchup Sunday as the Rays have tied for the third-most runs scored (91) during road contests this season.--Jesse Borek
