3 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara will miss his scheduled start on Wednesday against the Nationals in Washington after being placed on the bereavement list. There was reportedly a death in Alcantara's family, and he has flown back to Miami. The 25-year-old righty was coming off of a rough start against the Phillies in which he gave up three earned runs on four hits and only lasted three innings. The team has not announced yet who will take Alcantara's spot in the rotation.--Chelena Goldman
