5 years agoNew York Giants running back Saquon Barkley looked great on Sunday, totaling 139 yards against a strong Cowboys Defense. Barkley ripped off large chunks of yardage and made defenders miss throughout the game. Unfortunately, there were defenders around him all the time. What’s more concerning is that Barkley only caught four passes for 19 yards in a game in which quarterback Eli Manning threw 44 times. It was more than likely due to the Cowboys defensive gameplan after Barkley had 16 catches against them in Week 16 last year, but it’s something to watch going forward. With the Giants likely to trail often, Barkley is going to need consistent receiving work to be more valuable than the other top three backs who were going around him in drafts.--Eric Samulski - RotoBaller
