3 years agoNew York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) and the team staff were initially hoping for a Week 8 return to action following his ankle sprain in Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys. This is likely the reason the Giants opted to forego an IR stint for their stud ball-carrier, but according to reports it now seems unlikely he will be able to play against Kansas City. Barkley will have a good chance to return in Week 9, but even that is not a guarantee as the team could opt to play it safe and keep him sidelined into the BYE week. Upon his return to the lineup, Barkley can be valued as a mid-to-low end RB1 for fantasy managers. As long as he remains out, Devontae Booker has upside as a FLEX option because of his significant workload as the lead back.--Tommy Adamopoulos - RotoBaller
