3 years agoNew York Giants running back Saquon Barkley was praised by his teammates and head coach after his first 100-yard rushing performance since the 2019 season. Offensive tackle Andrew Thomas mentioned that "they had extra guys in the box, and he made some pretty athletic moves to make some defenders miss, so I was proud of the way he played." Joe Judge went on to say that Barkley "ran tough and aggressive, and was very productive in a game that the opposing team knew we were going to just keep running." After finishing with 102 yards on 21 carries, his longest rush was only 10 yards, which is different from what we usually see from the former second overall pick. Instead of one huge chunk play and then a lot of runs that go nowhere, Barkley was able to find consistency on each of his carries. He will look to close out the season strong against the Washington Football Team and build some momentum going into the 2022 campaign. The former Penn State star figures to have a better outlook in 2022 two years removed from ACL surgery, but the Giants must address their woes at the offensive line position to find him some more running lanes.--Tommy Adamopoulos - RotoBaller
