6 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Max Scherzer is now scheduled to start the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Scherzer will be starting the game on seven days' rest. Not that Scherzer needs any more help this season, but a little extra rest can't hurt. Scherzer has a nice matchup today against the Dodgers, whose offense ranks 22nd in the MLB with a .709 OPS. Scherzer has pitched six or more innings in eight of his nine starts this season, he has racked up six double-digit strikeout performances, and has yet to allow more than two earned runs in any start this season. He should be considered a DFS cornerstone today.--Phil Goyette
