Scooter Gennett Turns In Three-Hit Afternoon
6 years agoCincinnati Reds second baseman Scooter Gennett broke out of his post-All-Star game lull, going 3-for-4 in his team's 7-3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday. Gennett came into the game hitless in 14 at-bats since the break but was able to jump-start his bat against the Cardinals with two singles and a double. Gennett continues to be a quality fantasy option at second base, hitting .318 with an .874 OPS, 16 homers, 60 runs, and 63 RBI on the season. The Reds appear to want to keep Gennett instead of trading him at the trade deadline but there's a chance another team makes them an offer they can't refuse. Gennett should remain locked into fantasy lineups going forward.
