Scott Darling Holds On For Victory After Potential Blown Lead
6 years agoCarolina Hurricanes goaltender Scott Darling made 35 saves on 38 shots for a .921 save percentage in the 4-3 win over the Chicago Blackhawks. Darling was given a 4-0 lead shortly after the second period started, however, allowed three unanswered as the Hurricanes almost blew the lead. None of the goalies for the Hurricanes including Curtis McElhinney and Petr Mrazek (lower-body) are drawing inspiration in net, despite a solid Hurricanes defensive core, as Darling is the only goaltender with an above .900 save percentage at .904. He will remain the starter as long as Mrazek is out with an injury, however, there are far superior options in net.
