7 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Scott Kazmir, 34, said he's fully healthy and is ready to surprise people in 2018. The former three-time All-Star left-hander is determined to win a spot in the starting rotation this spring. He'll be competing with young pitchers Luiz Gohara, Max Fried and Sean Newcomb for the final two spots in the rotation. The Braves could also use Kazmir in a relief role if he's healthy. Kazmir didn't pitch at all in 2017, but he's throwing on a normal program in camp, according to manager Brian Snitker. Even if the injury-plagued Kazmir wins a rotation spot in 2018, he'll only be a late-round flier in deep NL-only leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
