Seahawks Expected To Part Ways With Ken Norton Jr.
3 years agoThe Seattle Seahawks are expected to part ways with defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. and defensive passing-game coordinator Andre Curtis, according to sources close to the team. Assistant head coach/defensive line coach Clint Hurtt is expected to be a candidate for a promotion to defensive coordinator. Veteran NFL assistant Ed Donatell is also a candidate for the position. Under Norton this year, the Seahawks defense gave up an average of 451 yards in the first five games, which was on pace to be the worst in NFL history. Seattle's defense rebounded, but they finished by allowing 379.1 yards per game, the second-most in team history. They specifically struggled in pass defense, ranking 31st in the league by allowing 265.4 passing yards per game. Hurtt, 43, has been the team's defensive line coach since 2017.
