Seahawks Still See Jamal Adams As A Difference-Maker
3 years agoSeattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Clint Hurtt still views All-Pro safety Jamal Adams as a difference-maker in this defense. "How we use him, that's going to be on me. It's our responsibility, my responsibility to make sure we put him in positions so he can be at his very best, and we know how great he is at doing that," Hurtt said. Adams played in just 12 games in 2021 due to a shoulder injury after signing a four-year extension worth $70 million last offseason. He didn't record a sack for the first time in his career while producing 87 tackles, five passes defensed and two interceptions. Hurtt wants Seattle's defense to be more aggressive, which should include more blitzing. Expect the Seahawks to utilize Adams more as a downhill player, which has been his specialty.
