Seahawks Still Want To Re-Sign Geno Smith
3 years agoSeattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said the team would like to re-sign quarterback Geno Smith, who was Russell Wilson's backup the last three years. Smith started three games in Wilson's absence last year and went 1-2 in those starts. If Smith is re-signed, Carroll said he'd be the front-runner to win the starting job over Drew Lock because he has the deepest knowledge of the Seahawks offense. Former Washington star Jacob Eason is the only other QB on Seattle's current roster. Smith hasn't made more than three starts in a single season since way back in 2014, when he started 13 of 14 games for the New York Jets, throwing 13 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in his sophomore season.
