Sean Couturier Inks Eight-Year Extension with Philadelphia Flyers
3 years agoSean Couturier will be with the Philadelphia Flyers for another nine years potentially. Couturier signed an eight-year extension on Thursday for an AAV of $7.75 million. So, that total amount is $62 million Also, the new contract kicks in for the 2022-23 season. The center is one of the best two-way pivots in the NHL. Despite only playing 45 of 56 games last season, Couturier still wound up with 18 goals and 41 points. It will be interesting to see who Couturier paired with this season at even strength. On the power play, Claude Giroux and Sean Couturier should get to play with Ryan Ellis and that alone should be a treat. Couturier expects to play 20 or more minutes a night and will see his fantasy value stay quite high.
