6 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Sean Manaea (shoulder) will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder on Sept. 19, and the procedure will be performed by Dr. Neil ElAttrache in Los Angeles. He wasn't expected to pitch the rest of the year, but this news confirms that. The left-hander was 12-9 with a complete-game no-hitter, a career-best 3.59 ERA and 108 strikeouts in 27 starts in 2018. When he was put on the disabled list last month, Manaea was tied for second in the American League in games started, was ninth in innings pitched and sixth in fewest walks per nine innings (1.79). He should be healed in time for the 2019 season and will be attractive to most fantasy owners.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
