4 years agoOakland Athletics catcher Sean Murphy went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in a win over the Rays in Tropicana Field. It was Murphy's second homer this season as he's producing power numbers despite an anemic .160 batting average. The second-year backstop is making great contact with a 91.8 MPH average exit velocity but has also been plagued by a .194 BABIP early in the season. His batting average is a concern but Murphy is sporting a 13.1 percent walk rate and his elite plate discipline has his on-base percentage at a strong .311.
