3 years agoOakland Athletics catcher Sean Murphy went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in a loss to the Mariners on Monday. Murphy is hitting only .219 this season as the sophomore backstop hasn't taken the next step many hoped he would prior to the season. His walk rate has almost halved from last season - 17.1% to 8.8% this year - and his hard-hit rate is down five percent as well. There's still hope for Murphy as he's only 26-years-old and catchers to typically have the biggest learning curve when breaking into the Majors. He has enough upside to be held on to in two-catcher formats, but fantasy managers in one-catcher leagues should take a look at the waiver wire if still rostering Murphy.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
