Sean Newcomb Adequate In Losing Effort
4 years agoAtlanta Braves starter Sean Newcomb surrendered two runs on five hits across 5 2/3 innings of work during Wednesday's 2-1 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays. He struck out four batters while issuing a single walk. The offense let him down in this one, as the 27-year-old managed to throw 63 percent of his pitches for strikes. Newcomb has had a pedestrian start to the season, as evidenced by his 6.57 ERA. He is nothing more than a streaming option in most formats, but will be an asset to avoid in his next projected start against the Philadelphia Phillies.
