Seattle Banks On Rashaad Penny’s Impact Down The Stretch
4 years agoSeattle Seahawks running back Rashaad Penny (knee) has rejoined the team at practice ahead of its Week 14 matchup against the Jets on Sunday and has already drawn rave reviews from head coach Pete Carroll. Deemed a "very positive initial return," it sounds as if the Seahawks will ease Penny back into action, but the head coach made it clear that Penny is expected to play a significant role down the stretch and potentially into the postseason. With Penny back in the mix, Seattle's backfield could suddenly become crowded with Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde possibly ceding way to giving Penny consistent touches as well. While it may not happen as soon as Sunday, the Seahawks are heading toward a by-committee rushing unit, which is sure to deliver a blow to Carson's fantasy value at some point in 2020.
