2 years agoChicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki (finger) is feeling better since being shut down from hitting and will take dry swings on Friday, according to skipper David Ross. "If the pain and swelling get out of there, I think the process will move pretty quickly," Ross said. Suzuki is trying to return from a strained left ring finger that has kept him out since May 26. The Japanese outfielder began to slow down offensively in the month of May before his injury, going 15-for-71 (.211) with no home runs and seven RBI in 20 games in the month of May. But overall in his first taste of major league pitching, the 27-year-old has been pretty solid, slashing .245/.344/.432 with four home runs, 21 RBI, 20 runs scored and three stolen bases in 163 plate appearances. Suzuki should return to an everyday role when he's fully healthy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
