2 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays signed free-agent relief pitcher Sergio Romo to an undisclosed major league contract on Monday, according to league sources. Romo was granted his release by the Seattle Mariners last week after allowing 13 earned runs on 18 hits (six home runs allowed) while walking four and striking out 11 in 14 1/3 innings over 17 relief appearances for the Mariners. The 39-year-old veteran is nearing the end of his career and is unlikely to have much more than a low-leverage role out of Toronto's bullpen if he sticks in the majors the rest of this year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
