Sergio Romo Picks Up A Save On Friday
5 years agoMinnesota Twins reliever Sergio Romo got the final four outs of an 11-9 win over the Kansas City Royals to earn a save on Friday. It goes down as Romo's first save since the Twins acquired him from the Miami Marlins in a trade. Romo has been a steady bullpen piece this season, posting 18 saves in 19 chances to go along with a 3.29 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 36 strikeouts in 41 innings of work. Lefty Taylor Rogers has been struggling to close out games this season, which gives Romo a chance to run away with the ninth-inning role if he pitches well. Romo is worth an add in deeper leagues.
