4 years agoNew York Mets reliever Seth Lugo (elbow) reportedly remains on track for a return from the injured list sometime in mid-May. Heading into 2021, Lugo was projected to primarily work out of the bullpen where he has become one of the elite set-up men in baseball. Once he returns from the injured list, Lugo should work with Trevor May, who has struggled to begin the season, to handle late-inning work as a bridge to get to closer Edwin Diaz. Lugo will be a huge boost to the Mets' beleaguered bullpen. He will be in line to put up elite ratios and strikeouts, to go with a large number of holds, and perhaps some saves if Diaz struggles.
