4 years agoNew York Mets relief pitcher Seth Lugo (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list on Monday. The move was made to simply create space on the 40-man roster for outfielder Johneshwy Fargas who was called up by the Mets, given the injuries to Michael Conforto and Jeff McNeil. It should be stressed that Lugo did not have a setback in his rehab from his elbow injury. Lugo will now not be eligible to return to the Mets until May 31. That said, he was not scheduled to return until the last week of May, so this move, at worst, delays his return by a few days. Once he returns, Lugo will be in line to put up elite ratios and strikeouts, to go with a large number of holds, and perhaps some saves if closer Edwin Diaz struggles.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
