7 years agoWashington Nationals pitching prospect Seth Romero, the 2017 first-round pick who was sent home from camp Monday, violated a team policy and not an MLB one, according to Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post. She notes that the removal wasn't from a failed drug test or any other league-wide rule that was violated, though the team hasn't said exactly which of their own rules or policies was broken. It would seem that Romero is continuing the troubles that he had in college. The Nationals picked Romero with the 25th overall pick, and his team issues are why Romero fell to them. He was a hyped prospect at the University of Houston who struck out 32 batters in 20 innings of Low-A ball in 2017. It will be a shame if he blows his chance so early in his career.--Mario Hernandez - RotoBaller
