7 years agoThe New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals are having trade discussions for Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson as the trade deadline nears on Friday, according to sources. Donaldson has cleared trade waivers, and it looks increasingly likely that he'll be dealt Friday evening. He's been hurt for most of the year but demonstrated he's getting back to full health by homering in a rehab game on Thursday. He was also pulled from the lineup in his rehab game on Friday, signaling a trade may be close. The former Most Valuable Player has plenty of pop in his stick when he's healthy and could make an impact for fantasy owners down the stretch. Being traded to a contender would certainly help. If he was dropped in any leagues, pick him up immediately.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
