2 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays placed starting pitcher Shane Baz (elbow) on the 15-day injured list on Thursday with a right elbow sprain. He will rest for a month and then be re-evaluated to determine a timetable for his return to action. Baz will also receive an injection in his right elbow. In a corresponding move, right-hander Luke Bard was recalled from Triple-A Durham. Baz experienced right elbow discomfort while playing catch on Tuesday. The 23-year-old probably won't be an option again for fantasy managers until some point in September, barring any setbacks during his rehab. He's allowed 15 earned runs on 27 hits while walking nine and striking out 30 in 27 innings over his six starts this year, but he can probably be dropped in most mixed leagues if you don't have the room to stash him.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
