Shane Baz Removed Early In Saturday's No-Decision
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Shane Baz allowed one earned run on one hit and two walks while striking out four over 2 2/3 innings during Saturday's 12-2 win over the New York Yankees. He did not factor into the decision. The rookie phenom threw 51 pitches, landing 28 for strikes. Tampa Bay has the best record in the league, and with the No.1 seed locked up, decided to pull Baz early on Saturday to preserve his arm for the postseason. Baz finishes the 2021 campaign with a 2.03 ERA, 0.68 WHIP, and 18:3 K: BB over 13 1/3 innings. The 22-year-old will be an intriguing name and a high-upside pick in upcoming 2022 fantasy drafts.
