3 years agoTampa Bay Rays right-hander Shane Baz (elbow) underwent arthroscopic surgery on Monday to remove loose bodies from his right elbow. The procedure was performed by Dr. Keith Meister in Dallas, Texas. Baz is expected to return to throwing in two to three weeks. The 22-year-old is the No. 12 overall prospect in all of baseball entering the 2022 season and was projected to begin the year in Tampa's starting rotation. In his first three major league starts in 2021, he looked good with a 2.03 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 18 strikeouts over 13 1/3 innings. Hopefully for those that invest in Baz, he won't miss too much time in the opening month of the season. Ryan Yarbrough, Josh Fleming and Jalen Beeks will be competing for a rotation spot with Baz injured.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
