Shane Bieber Playing Catch From 90 Feet
3 years agoCleveland Indians starting pitcher Shane Bieber (shoulder) was playing catch from 90 feet on Friday, and is getting closer to throwing off the mound for the first time since mid-June, according to Zack Meisel of The Athletic. He's been sidelined with a strained rotator cuff for nearly two months now, but Meisel reports that Bieber is encouraged by recent progress and wants to come back "as soon as possible." This is a good sign for Bieber, as it looks like he may be able to return in time for the fantasy playoffs. If he's able to return it would be a big boost to fantasy teams where he's rostered, however at this point if he suffers a setback it might end up with him being shut down for the season. Managers should remain cautiously optimistic and continue to check for updates on his condition.
