Shane Greene Has No Structural Damage In Shoulder
6 years agoDetroit Tigers reliever Shane Greene (shoulder) has no structural damage to his throwing shoulder, the team told reporters on Friday. Greene's shoulder issues apparently stem from bursitis, which is a common type of inflammation for pitchers who throw as much as Greene does. He's listed on the 10-day disabled list, and Joe Jimenez has been filling in as the closer in his absence. Jimenez notched his third save on Friday, but the Tigers will be anxious to get Greene back, as he has 19 saves in 22 chances and 42 strikeouts in 38 innings of work on the year.
