4 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Shane McClanahan struck out the side on Monday against the Boston Red Sox. What's more impressive is that he's now whiffed seven straight batters going back to his first appearance on March 3. The southpaw is traditionally a starting pitcher but all three of his appearances this spring have been one-inning stints, which suggests the club may have him open the year in the majors as a one- or two-inning weapon. He made his MLB debut in the 2020 playoffs while pitching in relief. McClanahan's heater can hit triple digits and he backs it up with a very good breaking ball. He's ranked by Rotoballer as the 24th-best starting pitching prospect for dynasty baseball.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
