Shed Long Jr. Doubles In Two Runs Friday
3 years agoSeattle Mariners utility man Shed Long Jr. hit a two-run double off Los Angeles Angels starter Alex Cobb Friday, his only hit in three at-bats. He also walked once and scored a run. Long Jr. has been a regular presence in the starting lineup since returning from the injured list on June 8, and he's provided some pop with four home runs and a .442 slugging percentage in 77 at-bats. Much of Long Jr.'s value was expected to come from his speed, but he has yet to swipe a bag this season. For now, he is best left on waiver wires, but if those steals start to add up, he could be a worthy add in deeper formats.
