Shelton Gibson To Get Start Against Falcons
6 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver Shelton Gibson is expected to get his first start of his career at the X position on Thursday night with No. 1 receiver Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) being unavailable for the game. After a disappointing rookie campaign, the 2017 fourth-round draft pick showed significant improvement this offseason and continued his development through training camp. He had an excellent preseason, leading the Eagles with nine catches for 176 yards and two touchdowns in three exhibition games while also averaging 29.0 yards per kick return on six attempts. Gibson is a big-play receiver and is slated to be the team's main kick returner. The second-year pro is definitely someone to keep an eye on down the road and could be a sneaky flex play in DFS against the Falcons.
