4 years agoLos Angeles Angels designated hitter Shohei Ohtani has recently been working in the field, potentially eyeing a shift to first base or the outfield. While pitching, the organization has maintained its desire to have Ohtani serve as the DH, but with the two-way phenom shut down from the mound due to a forearm strain, there are other options on the table. Ohtani stated Friday that he planned to return to the hill next season, hoping to avoid surgery. Through 30 games as a batter in 2020, Ohtani has delivered a .670 OPS, which limits his season-long appeal over the final three-plus weeks.--Jesse Borek
