4 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani is out of the lineup on Sunday afternoon against the Athletics. Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports that the decision was made to keep Ohtani out of the lineup Sunday due only to the fact that Oakland had a left-handed pitcher starting, with manager Joe Maddon saying that if the Athletics starter was right-handed then Ohtani would have been in the lineup. This is cause for relief for fantasy managers, as there had been some concern over Ohtani given a noticeable dip in velocity in his last start on the mound. So it appears this is just a day of rest for Ohtani, and he should return to the lineup on Tuesday.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
