4 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani is not in the lineup for the first game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Twins. Ohtani displayed decreased velocity on his fastball during Wednesday's start, though manager Joe Maddon indicated that it wasn't due to an injury. Unless the Angels say otherwise, this is just a routine day off for the two-way star on a two-game slate. Anthony Rendon will serve as the designated hitter. Fantasy managers should expect him to play in the second contest. Ohtani is riding a six-game hitting streak and has three homers during that span.--Tim Capurso
