5 years agoPrior to Saturday's game against the Boston Red Sox, Shohei Ohtani took another step in his road back from Tommy John surgery, throwing a 40-pitch bullpen session. Throwing all fastballs and at only 80% intensity, Ohtani reached 82 mph and reported no issues. Hoping to progress to breaking balls soon, the two-way star will continue to throw bullpens and eventually build to completing his rehab by pitching simulated games by season's end. This would allow Ohtani to follow a normal offseason regimen, putting him on track for a full return by the start of spring training.--Nicklaus Gaut - RotoBaller
