4 years agoLos Angeles Angels pitcher/outfielder Shohei Ohtani will have a limited workload during his start against the Rangers on Tuesday night. Manager Joe Maddon said that the two-way star will be limited to 75 pitches on the mound- and won't bat in the lineup as he did in his first turn in the rotation. Ohtani has been dealing with a blister on his right middle finger and hasn't pitched since April 4, so it makes sense for the team to take a cautious approach. Maddon said that it's not yet clear if Ohtani will hit in the lineup on Wednesday following his start. Even on a limited workload, the 26-year-old has strikeout upside on Tuesday night against a Rangers lineup that currently owns the second-worst strikeout rate in the majors.--Tim Capurso
