7 years agoLos Angeles Angels manager Mike Scioscia said starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani (back, finger, elbow) will throw a light bullpen session on Wednesday, followed by a more intense one on Friday. If he comes out of those sessions OK, Ohtani will likely make his next scheduled start on Sunday against the White Sox. The Japanese right-hander saw his velocity noticeably decrease in his first start in around three months last Sunday night, which caused plenty of concern. Apparently it had nothing to do with his troublesome right elbow, though, and was more related to finger and back issues. If Ohtani is able to start this weekend in a good matchup, fantasy owners should throw him into their starting lineups. Ohtani was back in the lineup as a hitter on Tuesday, which is a good sign.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
