5 years agoLos Angeles Angels pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani is "really letting it go" when playing long toss and then shortening the distance to 60 feet, according to Angels pitching coach Mickey Callaway. Ohtani is recovering from Tommy John surgery and throwing off a mound could come very "soon". Ohtani's timeline in the season to resume pitching in games was right around mid-May to June so it appears his rehab is still on course. Whenever the season begins, the Angels intend to use the two-way player as a pitcher at some point this season. But it is fair to expect the team to be extra cautious with how they use Ohtani this season, which could stunt his fantasy potential on the pitching side.--Joey C - RotoBaller
